Gold Coast SUNS Shoot & Catalogue

TUSK and the Gold Coast SUNS have teamed up again, this time with the release of the club’s first retail merchandise catalogue. The 16pg ‘End of Season Sale’ catalogue features the full range of supporter wear and merchandise, from the official on-field apparel through to baby bibs and plush toys.

Metricon Stadium set the scene for a great afternoon photoshoot - players and talent showcasing the range in a variety of scenarios and settings. The full range of product shots to be used with the product details inside the catalogue were then covered in a dedicated studio shoot.

Big thanks to Kenny at Kenny Smith Photography

The SUNS’ final game for the year is at Metricon Stadium this weekend against Hawthorn and will see their first season in the AFL come to a close. Why not grab yourself a deal on some merchandise (it will only be their inaugural year once) and get along to the final game to show your support.

Initiated by Karan Singh and Ashleigh Leech, ‘Half of Us’ is a joint project to raise money for the Cancer Council. It is said that in 2010, more than 43,000 people were estimated to have died due to cancer, equating to approximately 118 family, friends and loved ones each day.

The objective is to create 12 illustrations in 12 hours, prints of which will be sold in order to raise funds. The marathon is to be held on Saturday, 27th August 2011 from 9AM until 9PM in Melbourne Australia.

A Type of Show.

The exhibition is curated by Like Minded Studio and while featuring a range of brilliant local typographers and artists, also features two international type artists Tony DiSpigna and Alex Trochut. According to Like Minded Studio’s Luca Ionesco, “The idea behind the show is to unite the local type and lettering community, but also to welcome to DiSpigna and Trochut to Australia, a rare occasion for our type and lettering community.”

Trochut has been brought out to Australia by The Jacky Winter Group for another exhibition, More is More, and will be participating in a book signing (Friday August 19 from 6-9pm at The Showcase Gallery), while you can catch DiSpigna at his design lecture at COFA (7.30pm, 18 August).

At A Type of Show, look out for work from Keith Morris, Timba Smits, Tristan Ceddia, Andrew van der Westhuyzen, Vince Frost, Marty Routledge, Gemma ‘O Brien, Jonathan Zawada, Luke Lucas, Jeremyville, Ken Taylor and Deanne Cheuk, and many more.

The exhibition runs from 7pm, 17 August to 31 August at Kind of Gallery, 72 Oxford Street in Darlinghurst.
